Meet Melinda

Melinda Paulsell, PT, is a Schroth-trained physical therapist with over 20 years of orthopedic experience, a cheer mom, and the creator of Biofunctional Pattern Integration (BPI) — a performance-based movement system originally developed for athletes to optimize posture, movement efficiency, and power.
Her journey into scoliosis care became personal when her youngest daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis, transforming a professional passion into a mission. Immersed in the world of competitive cheer, Melinda saw firsthand how often cheerleaders, gymnasts, and dancers struggle with postural asymmetry, hypermobility, and pain — issues that often go unaddressed until they lead to injury or performance limitations.
While BPI was created for athletic performance, Melinda quickly recognized its broader impact. The same strategies that helped athletes move with greater control and power also applied to scoliosis and clinical populations, helping improve alignment, decrease pain, and restore more efficient movement patterns in her patients.
Motivated by this crossover potential, Melinda pursued Schroth scoliosis training and developed Stop the Progression, an educational program to help individuals and families understand scoliosis and build proactive strategies for postural and spinal health.
To meet the unique physical demands of young athletes, Melinda went on to create CheerX — a groundbreaking injury-prevention and performance program specifically designed for cheerleaders, gymnasts, and dancers. By integrating BPI with spine-type education, targeted movement strategies, and explosive power training, CheerX helps athletes train smarter, move better, and compete longer.
Today, Melinda combines clinical expertise, athletic performance training, and her personal experience as a parent to help athletes, families, and patients address pain at its source, prevent injuries, and build strong, adaptable movement patterns for life.
