The CheerX Biofunctional Performance Course
CheerX: Injury Prevention & Performance Redefined
Train Smarter. Move Better. Compete Longer.
CheerX is a groundbreaking injury-prevention and performance program created exclusively for cheerleaders, gymnasts, and dancers—athletes who demand more from their bodies and often face the highest risks of pain, postural asymmetry, and spinal injuries. Unlike traditional conditioning programs that only focus on strength and flexibility, CheerX addresses the skeletal, muscular, and neurological foundations that truly shape performance and resilience.
Developed by Melinda Paulsell, PT, a Schroth-trained scoliosis, posture, and movement specialist with over 20 years of orthopedic experience and a proud cheer mom, CheerX blends evidence-based movement science with a deep understanding of the unique demands of these sports. At the heart of the program is Biofunctional Pattern Integration—the flagship pillar of CheerX. This method integrates neuromotor learning, oculomotor and balance training, and resisted-to-explosive movement progressions to build coordinated control, powerful movement, and a foundation that supports long-term health and performance.
For this population, pain is the number one reason athletes seek help. It is not an afterthought—it’s the driving force that brings so many young athletes, parents, and coaches to look for real solutions. CheerX was built with that reality in mind. By addressing underlying postural asymmetries, hypermobility, faulty movement patterns, and joint restrictions, the program works to restore efficiency and alignment at the deepest levels. This integrated approach has the potential to reduce pain, improve control, and decrease the likelihood of future injury.
CheerX is not just another injury-prevention program—it represents a paradigm shift in how athletes train. By rebuilding posture, redefining movement patterns, and reestablishing proper neuromuscular control, CheerX empowers athletes to move with greater strength, precision, and confidence. And with the option for a personalized coaching call directly with Melinda, each athlete receives expert support tailored to their spine, their movement patterns, and their performance goals.
This is the first and only program of its kind—a bridge between clinical expertise and the high demands of cheerleading, gymnastics, and dance. CheerX is designed to help athletes not only prevent injuries, but to address the very pain that brought them here in the first place—unlocking their true movement potential for lasting performance.
